Almost 500 academicians and Scientists write to the Environment Ministry for the withdrawal of Draft Environment Impact Assessment notification.

Environmental Impact Assessment can be defined as a process for the evaluation of environmental impacts of any project for development taking into account the relationship with social-economic culture and human health impacts including both beneficial and adverse ones. As per new EIA draft 2020, the government has granted post facto environment clearance to the industries which have their hands in operating and politics the environment without consent from the union ministry of environment, forest and climate change. Across local trees, they are various mails that have been sent to the authority regarding suggestions and objections to the government over the subject. The authority has received at least 17 lakh emails. Now get signatures from 130 institutions have counted their concern over the issue. The authority including Indian institute of science, Indian institutes of science education and research, Indian Institute of Technology, National Centre for biological sciences and wildlife institute of India received the concern over the EIA Draft 2020. The controversial statement and draft have received criticism from each and every part of the nation like students, citizens, activists,  environmentalists etc. According to the concerned people, the EIA Draft is a dilution of the environment and it also opposes the real practices of EIA. The objection also includes classification of many other highly polluting industries so that it can be exempted. The environment is already degrading day by day at very high speed. There are various causes of it starting from the lower segment of a house too big industries. There is a great need for sustainable development and poorly planned large scale development projects will definitely have negative impacts over biodiversity ecosystems and people. Therefore the government must have to take care of the biodiversity and the environment before having any resolution or policy over that issue.
